Dario Guibert, 1988, born in Madrid (Spain). In 2010 he finished his studies of classic double bass at Professional Conservatory of Alcalá de Henares (Spain), where he studied with Antonio García Araque and Franco Pugliese. In 2014 he got his bachelor degree of “Jazz Double Bass” at “Escuela Superior de Música del País Vasco” (Musikene), where he spend four years studying with Gonzalo Tejada, Bob Sands, Guillermo, McGill, Joaquín Chacón or Andrei Olejnizak. During his studies there, Dario Guibert participated in various jazz and/or classical projects including the collaboration with the Euskadi Symphonic Orchestra. In 2016 finished his Master degree “New York Jazz Master” at Prins Claus Conservatorium,The Netherlands, under the guidance of renowned teachers and musicians such as Paul Berner, Mark Hanstra or Michael Moore and many others. During this period he moved for five months to New York where he studied with Omer Avital, Jonathan Kreisberg, Ari Hoenig, Rufus Reid, Mike Moreno, Adam Nussbaum, Genne Jackson, Matt Wilson, Joe Locke, John Goldsby, Jorge Roeder, Orlando le Felming, Hans Glawischnig o Harvie Swratz. Some of the most outstanding projects and recordings he was involved in are Maldataskull, The Machetazo, Jorge Castañeda Trio & Quintet, Stefan Goranov Quartet, Mathieu Franceschi Trio, Emmanuel Lossio Quartet and Reunion Big Band. Dario’s versatility in different styles, musicality and technical abilities on the instrument keep him busy as a leader, co-leader and a sideman in many other projects as well.
